Has anyone else in the guild been using or looking at the Discord App?
www.discordapp.com

Wondering if anyone else thought it might work for the guild maybe instead of mumble.
Just an idea.

I did look, it is possible to set permissions via channel to keep it only to those we may want in the channel.

Ive been using Discord for the better part of 6 months, and minus a few hiccups on their servers getting DDoSed ive had very few issues with it. =D

I've been using Discord for a few months, though mainly as a chat client, and I like it a lot! I haven't had the opportunity to try it as a voice-chat client, yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about those options. :)

Well if anyone would like to try Discord, Here is a link to the server I set up. It's dead right now, but it should give you some idea of what it's like.

Discord is free (?) - and seems to be the preferred of the two with a lot of my raider friends. They all moved from Mumble to Discord. :o Is there any reason why we shouldn't, other than laziness?

I like how it has text + voice in the same area.

There is no reason we shouldn't switch, other than we've paid for Mumble already this year...

I suggest we remember this and make a discussion and switch when Mumble expires next year.

Mumble was just renewed for the year, as a matter of fact. Since we reduced our seats, the renewal date moved. Due to a generous contribution from a guildie (I'll let them speak for themselves if they wish to), the amount was paid in full.
